MSJ recently had their homecoming week. To start, the school had a spirit week where we had different themed dress days. Our themes were Country vs. Country Club, Sports Day, PJ’s Day and Color Block day where all the grades were assigned a color.
We kicked off the weekend events with a Pep Rally that took place in the gymnasium on Friday at the end of the school day. Our pep rally committee planned several activities for the school to compete and participate in and we also recognized our fall sports teams. Both soccer teams then played in their homecoming games. The JV boys played Burr and Burton on Friday afternoon and won 3-1 , and the Varsity girls soccer team played Poultney on Saturday Morning and ended with a tie 2-2. After the boys game Friday evening, the school hosted a bonfire where students and families played lawn games and food and refreshments were provided.
To finish off the week of activities, the homecoming committee put together a very well attended dance on Saturday night. To plan for this dance the committee got together to make many decorations, provided food and drinks, and arranged a DJ for music. The dance was a good time and everyone had fun.
Overall the week was a success and was a great way to celebrate the fall sports season and our school.
