ACADEMIC OPPORTUNITIES

The Mount St. Joseph Academy curriculum provides you with the academic fundamentals you will build on, in spirit and deed, to initiate into an active community life.

 

There are opportunities abound to make your mark and pursue your interests as you prepare for the rigors of a college education.

Advanced Placement Courses

Students who excel in particular disciplines, desire to work at an accelerated pace and wish to earn college credit while still in high school have the option to take Advanced Placement Courses at MSJ.

 

MSJ offers a variety of AP classes, including:

English, Calculus, Biology, United States History, European History, Chemistry, Art & Music.

Early College & Dual Enrollment Programs

Student Eligibility for Early College

  • Resident of Vermont

  • High school senior enrolled in a school that is publicly funded including a Vermont career technical center, approved independent high school and are publicly funded by their hometowns, High School Completion Program, and Home Study students.

Student Eligibility for Dual Enrollment

The Vermont Dual Enrollment program, 16 V.S.A. § 944, includes up to two college courses for eligible Vermont high school students. The Agency of Education has oversight of the dual enrollment program and will work with partner institutions of higher education to manage the delivery to students. Dual enrollment courses provided for in this legislation can be offered on a college campus, online, and on-site at a participating high school.

Stafford Technical Center and MSJ

MSJ works with the Stafford Technical Center in Rutland, Vermont, to bring extended technical education opportunities to our students.  (Contact MSJ FOR TUITION RATES)

-MSJ students may choose from 15 different programs at Stafford. Many of these technical programs have articulated agreements, transcript credit and dual enrollment options with Vermont State Colleges, which  allow students to earn college credits while at the technical center.
