DRAMA AT MSJ

The drama program serves several important purposes at MSJ. It gives participating students a chance to perform on a public stage, express themselves through theater and take an active role in exposing their fellow students to the joy of live performances.

Over the past 25 years, 18 productions from the drama program have advanced to the state Drama Festival. In 2006,  MSJ’s production of "Jerry Finnegan’s Sister" advanced to the New England Drama Festival — which showcases the 12 best one-act plays from the six New England states.

The Shoestring Theatre

Students who step out onto the MSJ stage as part of the Shoestring Theatre develop a sense of collaboration and an understanding that any role brings value to the whole enterprise. In addition, student-actors become self-confident by submitting their performances to their toughest audience — their peers.
