PASSION! SORCERY! TREACHERY! STUPIDITY! REVENGE!
Join us for an evening of magic as Shoestring Theater Company presents William Shakespeare's "The Tempest" the weekend before Thanksgiving. On a magical island Prospero (Kit Hudson) and his daughter MIranda (NIcole Bruso) live, attended by the sprite Ariel (Sarah Harvey), her band of magical creatures and the resentful Caliban (Spencer Potter) Prospero uses his magical powers to cause a storm to wreck the ship carrying his enemies who had exiled him to the island 12 years ago. The survivors of the tempest stagger ashore and find surprises there. Prince Ferdinand (Jared Bove) meets Miranda and is instantly smitten, the noble villains conspire to kill each other and are confounded by Ariel's magic, and the foolish villains link up with Caliban and run amuck in various hilarious ways. It all comes together at the end as Prospero gets his revenge and all ends more or less well.
