Host Families Needed

Host families are needed for out-of-state and international students at MSJ. This is a great opportunity to help a student who would like and MSJ education.

Host families receive a $500/month stipend. If you are interested, please contact MSJ at 775-0151, ext. 101 or ext. 111 or email Mr. Paolo Zancanaro at principal@msjvermont.org.

Summer will be here before we know it and we have some great camps lined up. Camps include our regular basketball camps, theater camp and cheerleading camp. Also we are very excited to be offering a Rock music camp, led by our own Mr. Harding, which is new for this year.

Honor Our Past Dinner is July 29th!!

Second Annual Honor Our Past Dinner for Scholarships: July 29, 2010 at 6 p.m. at the Holiday Inn. Last year, over three hundred attended this great event. Tickets are $75.00/ person. You can form a table with your friends if you wish. Honorees include John Valente of Proctor, the class of 1954 state championship basketball team, and the Sisters of Saint Joseph. Raffle tickets for some fantastic prizes are also available again this year — and you need not be in attendance to win. English Department Summer Assignments

1. There are no summer assignments for the freshmen, for the sophomores, or for any juniors taking the World Literature class.

2. There is a summer assignment for the juniors and seniors taking the AP English class. This assignment can be obtained by contacting the main office at

775-0151. The assignment can be mailed to those in need or they may stop in at the main office to pick up a copy. If students have any questions regarding

the summer assignment they can contact Ms. Fuller at bfuller@msjvermont.org or leave at message at 779-8090.

Mount St. Joseph Academy has three scholarships available for new students. You could be eligible for one of the following:

The John and Pamela Hayes Rehlen Scholarship

There are two scholarships available; each one is $2,500 per year for each of the student’s four years of attendance. Are you interested in a Catholic education? Do you participate in athletics or other extracurricular activities? Would you be a new student at MSJ? If you said “Yes!” to these three questions, then apply for one of these scholarships.

The Joseph and Yvonne Keith Scholarship

One scholarship is available for $5,000 per year for each of the student’s four years of attendance. Are you interested in attending MSJ? Are you from the Pittsford, VT area? Do you participate in extracurricular activities? If you said “Yes!” to these three questions, then apply for this scholarship.

To apply for either of these scholarships you will need to fill out the scholarship application including a 500 word essay describing what talents and gifts you will bring to Mount St. Joseph Academy. Additionally you will need to have an application for admission on file and you will need to complete a FACTS Grant and Aid application which can be found at www.factstuitionaid.com.

Early registration for MSJ and CKS has begun. Early registration ends on February 16. The early registration fee is $125. After February 16, the registration fee is $175. Show your support for Catholic education in the Rutland region by registering early! You can now register on-line. On-line payment of the registration fee is available.
