International Student Program
Mount St. Joseph Academy is an academically diverse school— as many as 10% of the students have come from around the world. Since 1994, international students have been attending the Academy for an American education and cultural exchange. Local families have shared in that exchange by hosting international students in their homes. In some cases, several generations of a family have traveled across the globe to attend MSJ, frequently moving on to further studies at American colleges and universities.
International students pursue the same course of study as their American counterparts including academic, club, and athletic pursuits. They recognize that the value of an Academy education with its focus on fundamentals—mathematics, arts, and sciences—helps them acquire the skills they need to be successful in a competitive world.
This program hosts students from around the world including countries in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East providing an organic opportunity for local students to learn, firsthand, about other cultures. The International Student Program is truly learning that goes both ways and adds in so many ways to the ethnic and cultural fabric of an MSJ education.
